Install & Setup
Install Solazah, sign in, pick a model, then press Alt + Space and start.
1. Download and install
Go to the home page and click download, then pick your platform. Windows ships as an .exe installer, macOS as a .dmg.
The first launch walks you through a few settings. All of them can be changed later.
2. Sign in
You can use Solazah without an account — search, screenshots, notes and other local features need no sign-in.
Signing in adds two things:
| What you get | Notes |
|---|---|
| Hosted model credits | Talk to Otta without configuring an API key |
| Cloud sync | Settings and plugin data across devices. Requires a paid plan |
Sign-in happens in your browser; the client only stores the session.
3. Pick a model
Settings → Models. Two routes:
Use Solazah's hosted models. Available as soon as you sign in, no keys to fill. Best if you would rather not fiddle.
Bring your own API key. DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Alibaba Tongyi, Zhipu, MiniMax — plus any OpenAI-compatible service. Usage on your own key does not consume Credits.
The two coexist: give one model your own key and that model uses it.
See Models & API Keys.
4. Set up your workspace
The workspace is the folder Otta can see. It defaults to a folder in your home directory and can be moved in Settings → Storage.
Otta can read, search and edit files inside the workspace. For anything outside it, you have to give it a full path in the conversation.
See Workspace.
5. Try three things
Search. Press Alt + Space and type. Installed apps and commands show up here.
Talk to Otta. Press Alt + Q to open a conversation. Give it something small:
Convert all the images in this folder to PNG
Install a plugin. Type "Market" to open the plugin marketplace. Screenshots, notes, mail, file search and quick links all live there.
A fresh install only ships a few skeleton plugins — the launcher, Otta, settings, the marketplace and the developer tools. Everything else comes from the marketplace, and its commands and shortcuts only exist once installed.
