Account & Sync

What signing in gets you, what sync carries, and what to redo on a new machine.

Most local features work without an account: the launcher, search, screenshots, notes, file search.

Signing in adds two things: hosted model credits and cloud sync.

Signing in

Settings → Account → Sign in. It happens in your browser; the client only stores the session.

Turning on sync

Settings → Storage → toggle sync on. Requires a paid plan.

What syncs

ContentNotes
App settings and shortcuts
Model configurationIncluding API keys you entered
Mailbox connection detailsNot passwords
Installed plugins and their configuration
Workspace information and filesSubject to include / exclude rules

Sign in on another machine and your settings and plugins come back.

What does not sync

ContentOn a new machine
Conversation historyNot carried over
Otta's memoryBuild it up again, or copy the memory folder
Mailbox passwords / app passwordsSign in to mailboxes again
Login tokensSign in to Solazah again
Scheduled tasksRecreate them
MCP server configurationConfigure again

File sync scope

Syncs the default workspace, subject to include / exclude rules. Excluded by default, no configuration required:

.git/ node_modules/ dist/ build/ target/
.env* *.key *.pem anything containing "secret"

Individual files over 200 MB are skipped.

Conflicts

When two machines edit the same file, last write wins and the other version is kept beside it as a .conflict copy.

Turning sync off

Settings → Storage → toggle off. Local data is unaffected; it simply stops uploading.

Closing your account

Settings → Account → close account. Local files are unaffected. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Troubleshooting

The sync toggle will not turn on

It needs a paid plan. The free tier can use every local feature normally.

New machine, and my plugins did not come back

Check both machines are signed in to the same account with sync on. The cycle is about a minute.

One file never syncs

Check whether it matches an exclude rule, or exceeds 200 MB.

I see a .conflict file

Two machines edited it at once. Compare, keep the one you want, delete the other.
