Browser Control
Let Otta drive the browser you are already signed in to: read pages, click, fill forms, manage bookmarks and tabs.
With the browser extension installed, Otta can operate the browser you use every day — not a separate clean automation browser — so it can read content that requires a login.
Chrome and Edge are supported.
Installing the extension
Say so in the conversation:
Install the browser extension
Otta walks through the whole thing.
What it can do
| Capability | What it means |
|---|---|
| Tabs | List, open, switch, close, reload |
| Read pages | Extract the text of the current page |
| Act on pages | Click, fill forms |
| Bookmarks | Search, organise, create, delete |
| Fetch | Retrieve content by URL |
Examples
Tidy up my open tabs — close the duplicates
Read this page and summarise it into three sentences in my notes
Find that design site I bookmarked a while back
Open this link and copy the table data into Excel
Turning it off
Settings → Browser Tools → toggle off. Otta then has none of these capabilities and the extension is not called.
Submitting asks first
Submitting forms, sending and paying stop and wait for your confirmation. Read-only operations — viewing a page, listing tabs — do not ask every time.
Troubleshooting
Otta says it cannot reach the browser
Check the extension is enabled and the browser is running. Ask Otta to check the extension status.
It read stale content
The page may load dynamically. Have it refresh before reading.
Clicking does nothing
The element may be inside an iframe or not loaded yet. Describe the target more specifically, such as the text on the button.
