Featured Plugins
Five to install first: file search, quick links, screenshots, notes and mail.
The five under "Featured" in the marketplace. All of them are the kind you reach for daily and get value from immediately.
Once installed, their capabilities belong to both you and Otta — use them yourself, or have Otta call them.
File Search
Search your workspace and any folders you nominate by file name. Local index, no network.
Getting started
- Install it from the marketplace
- Type "File Search" in the search box
- Start typing — results appear as you go
Features
- Chinese file names can be searched by pinyin — either full spelling or initials
- Filter by type along the top: folders, images, text, documents, video, audio
- It searches the whole workspace by default; add other local folders in the plugin's settings
- It indexes file names only, never file contents
- Just added a folder and results look incomplete? Run "File Index" to rebuild
Quick Links
Turn frequently used URLs, files and folders into searchable commands.
Getting started
- Type "Quick Links" to open the manager
- Create one, give it a name and a target
- Save — it is searchable straight away
Features
- A link can have several aliases, so any of the words you might think of will find it
- Three ways to open: browser tab, standalone window (with a size you set), or the system file manager
- Dynamic links: put
{args}in the URL and whatever you type gets substituted. Handy for a "search GitHub" entry - Import Chrome / Edge bookmarks in one click
- With the browser extension installed, it can also find and switch to already-open tabs
Screenshot
Capture, annotate, pin and pick colours — a small set of screen tools you reach for constantly.
Getting started
- Install it
- Press
Alt + Xto select a region (the key can be changed in settings) - Annotate in place, then copy, save or pin
Features
- While selecting, it detects the window under your cursor — one click grabs the whole window, no need to line up edges
- Six annotation tools: rectangle, ellipse, arrow, pen, mosaic, text
- Pinning is its most distinctive feature — the capture stays on top of everything, draggable and zoomable. Excellent when working against a reference
- A pinned capture can also have its text recognised, after which you can select and copy it like text on a web page
Alt + Pis the colour picker: a magnifier follows the cursor, one click copies the value to the clipboard
Notes
WYSIWYG Markdown notes, plus an always-on-top scratch window.
Getting started
- Type "Notes" in the search box
- Create one and start writing
- Use the scratch window when you just need to jot something down
Features
- You write rich text, and only the line the cursor is on reveals its Markdown source — no toggling between edit and preview
- Tables, task lists, code blocks, maths, Mermaid diagrams,
[[wiki links]]and#tagsall supported - The scratch window stays on top, so a passing thought does not interrupt what you are doing
- Every note is an ordinary
.mdfile under Documents in your workspace. No proprietary format - Otta can search your notes, including semantic search — you can find something without remembering the wording
Read, search and write mail inside Solazah instead of switching to a browser.
Getting started
- Type "Mail" in the search box
- Add an account — picking Gmail / Outlook / QQ / 163 / iCloud fills in the servers, or configure IMAP and SMTP yourself
- Hit "test connection" before saving to confirm both directions work
Features
- Most providers reject a plain login password. Enable IMAP/SMTP on the provider's site, generate an app password, and use that
- Passwords are encrypted at OS level on your machine and are never synced or uploaded. A new device means signing in again
- Mail travels between your device and your provider only; it does not pass through our servers
- Otta can list, read, search and send mail — and can write a draft without sending, leaving the send button to you
