Solazah Desktop is here
An AI assistant that lives on your computer, reads your files, opens your apps, and finishes the job instead of handing you instructions.
Solazah Desktop is out for Windows and macOS.
It is an AI assistant that runs on your own machine. Press Alt + Space, say what you want, and it does the work — reading your files, opening your apps, driving your browser — then hands you the result.
The difference from a chat box
A chat box in a browser tab can only give you an answer. The copying, pasting, opening, saving and renaming is still yours to do.
Solazah finishes the job:
Sort the invoices in this folder by month and rename them to "date-amount-company"
It opens each one, reads it, creates the folders, renames the files.
Take the meeting time from that last email and put it in my notes, tagged #todo
Read the mail, extract the time, write the note — three apps, one sentence.
Real files, not text to copy
Ask for a spreadsheet and you get an .xlsx in your workspace, not a table pasted into a chat window.
Turn this CSV into a formatted Excel file, amounts right-aligned with thousands separators
Merge these three PDFs and add page numbers
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF all work this way. The Python and Node runtimes behind them ship with the app, so there is nothing to install.
Bring your own model, or use ours
Sign in and hosted models work immediately, no keys to configure.
Prefer your own account? Fill in an API key for DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Alibaba Tongyi, Zhipu or MiniMax — or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Usage on your own key is billed by that provider and consumes none of your Credits.
The two coexist: everyday conversation can run on a cheap hosted model while one particular model uses your key.
Capability you choose
A fresh install ships a small skeleton — the launcher, the assistant, settings, the marketplace and the developer tools. Everything else you install from the marketplace:
- File Search — search by file name, with pinyin support for Chinese names
- Quick Links — turn URLs, files and folders into searchable commands
- Screenshot — capture, annotate, and pin a capture on top of everything
- Notes — WYSIWYG Markdown with an always-on-top scratch window
- Mail — read, search and write mail without leaving the app
Installing a plugin gives its capability to you and to the assistant. Install the mail plugin and it can handle your mail.
Nothing there? Describe what you want and it builds the plugin for you.
Connect your own tools
MCP servers plug external capability straight in — query a database, read a repository, call an internal API. Say what you need and the assistant installs and configures it, testing the connection before saving.
With the browser extension, it drives the browser you are already signed in to, so pages behind a login are readable without handing over credentials.
Work that runs without you
Long jobs move to the background and hand control straight back. Close the window; the task keeps running.
Recurring work goes on a schedule:
Every weekday at 9am, summarise yesterday's notes into a new note
Local first
Your files, conversations and the assistant's memory stay on your machine.
Cloud sync is optional and off by default. When you do turn it on, it carries settings and plugin data — conversation history, assistant memory and mailbox passwords are never uploaded. Key files and .env are excluded from sync without any configuration.
Anything irreversible — deleting, sending, paying — stops and asks before it happens. You can interrupt a running task at any point.
Get it
Download for Windows or macOS from the home page, then read Install & Setup.
Tell us what breaks and what is missing — the fastest route is to say it to the assistant, which files the report for you.
